Sol

Mom here. Above is a picture of Sol and Luna from Owned by Pugs. OBP was the first pug blog I'd ever read and I was glued to the computer the first time I checked it out. Since, I've grown to know many other wonderful humans and pugs.

If you have been reading their blog you know they have rescued 4th pug named Sol. I can't exactly explain why but this cute gal, her pics and her story makes me sad and happy at the same time. Here is a cute pug who in her older years ends up abandoned? I feel so bad for the folks at OBP because they have some tough decisions to make about her regarding her health. My heart goes out to them. They are good people and will make the right decision.

Sorry

Hi all, if you are reading this I am sorry I haven't commented on anyone's posts. I was out of town thurs through sunday and didn't even get to pick up Brutus until Monday at 3:30. Brutus was at doggie day care and he did great but he was very excited to see me as I was to see him.

I did get to travel to and from DC with my co worker that has the guide dog named David. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics of him but we went through the airport and etc. He is such a great dog.

Pug Meet Up!

Before I get to the Indy Pug Meetup we FINALLY got to go to we need to acknowledge an anniversary.

12 years ago (1997) yesterday Mom went to the Clarion Animal Shelter in PA and picked up Bones. She says it's the best $30 she ever spent. She went there for a kitten but wasn't impressed with the younger kittens. Bones was working to get Moms attention and was pawing at her in the cage. So I guess Bones picked her. Bones was about 1 years old at the time and had been dropped off because his former human(s) had to go to Jail.

Blah Blah Blah, lets get onto me. Mom finally took me to a pug meetup but we were about 45 minutes late. Mom can't read clocks that aren't digital.

Anyway, Mom didn't get in any pics either because she was flustered about being late she didn't grab the camera. I had a great time! I got to see Harley again! As well as Sophie and Dixie.

I also got to meet Salinger and Jasmine, Pippin, and everyone else over at the Pug Posse. The cute Eddie even made a debut.

We are excited about the next one so that Mom can interact with the humans more. Mom was overwhelmed at all of the pugs and people. She was very excited to meet everyone and see all of the pugs. It all went by so fast. I had a great time and slept on the car ride home.

We also got an award from Vicki at Pug Posse. First, thank you!

So here are the rules! List 6 things that make you happy. Pass the award on to 6 bloggers for being Kreativ. Link to the blogger who gave you the award. Link to the blogs receiving the award. Notify the recipients.

Ok, what are 6 things that make us happy?
1. Treats, specifically anything chewy.
2. Rides in the car.
3. Bloggy friends. We are so happy to have friends that read our blog but more important we love hearing about others.
4. Nap time.
5. Going to work with Mom. I got to do that on Friday and it was awesome.
6. Bedtime. Lately I have been very excited about bedtime.

We would like to pass this off to

Rosie Marie, ,
Napoleon & Rukia
Clover

Notice this nice fellow is passing this award off to mostly the ladies!

Have a great week everyone!

David

Mom here. I'm hijacking today. I don't think I've talked much about David. David is my colleague Tom's guide dog. Tom has a disease and started losing his vision in college. About 15 years ago he had his first guide dog Blake. Now he has David. When I took my current job (5 years ago) I learned quite a bit about service dogs.

David is a very goofy but loving black lab. One of his nicknames is "Gavid." He is also a very smart competent guide dog. After watching Tom, my colleague and friend, interact with David I started petting David and paying attention to him when I could. I mean this Dogs entire life is built around serving Tom and caring for him so he can function in life. How noble and loyal.

So over time David really grew on me. He and I both understand the line between work and fun. Although he greets me at times when he should be "working" It's fun to go over and visit Tom because I get to pet David. There have been times when I've went over just to pet David while Tom is working on the computer. I also enjoy traveling with them because I get to travel with David.

All of this was brought on by an article about another service dog Wessely. I can't imagine the loss.

I love working for Tom because he is a great colleague, mentor and friend. I guess I never realized the other benefit was being reminded how great Dogs are. I doubt I would have Brutus, if it weren't for David. I wanted to love and be loved in the same way David made me feel.

Snow :(

We got more snow today. Mom is sick with a cold. She feels like a Debbie Downer. Here is another video. Oddly both feature Lindsay Lohan.

I did hear her on the phone mention a pug meetup this weekend! Can't wait!
