Goodbye 2008

I love this time of year when you are reminded of what happen during the last year.TV shows, magazines, etc. Helps you remember. Off the top of my head here are some high lights of the year.

Jan 12th when I adopted Brutus.

Finally catching up with technology online and discovering blogs, google reader, facebook, and myspace.

Starting two blogs, this one and a professional one.

Becoming a foster parent to Ozzy, Harley and Akita.

Finally got one of my articles published. It was in review for a while. Have another that's been in review even longer.

Brought in George Henry and adopted him.

Went to our first pug meet up in March and then again in October.

Colored my hair with pink streaks over the summer.

Making it through the Spring 08 semester despite two very big dramas, one public one private.

Presented at our national meeting 3 times in one conference.

Tom Stock! One of my co-workers turned 50 this year.

I think Brutus has had a good year. I have enjoyed writing this blog and am happy that others find it interesting. Sometimes I wonder what I am going to write about, everything seems so boring here. Then I realize it's the little things that are interesting. Brutus and I just went on our last walk of the year. He is busy with a busy bone that he's been working on all week.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Award!

I got this Lemonade award from Too Cute Pugs, aka Pearl and Daisy! Thanks pretty ladies!

We got it a while back and didn't want to rush the post. So I am sorry I didn't post about this sooner.

We are passing this on to Frances Louise and Jemima Jones Beck.

Happy Holidays!

Brutus here. Sorry we've been away but we are back and visited everyone's blogs today. Lots of great stories and gifts!

We went to the grandparents over the holiday. Here I am sleeping on the furniture. Something I never do at home but I know at the grandparents, I can get away with anything!

Here is Dutch and Ruthie (white kitteh). They hung out with me at the grandparents house. Dutch is always in trouble. Mom wishes he was around when she was younger so much of the stuff she got blamed for, Dutch could get blamed for.

Here I am with them. Note Dutches laser eyes. He is not to be trusted. I told Grandma and Grandpa that Dutch could easily have his own blog.

Here I am begging grandma for some ham. She gave me some. She luves me.

Grandpa, not so easy to get to feed me. He is a tough one!

Little did I know I was even competing with Ruthie!

No Fair! She has an advantage!

We hung out a lot at the house. They didn't take me many places. I did get to go to the family get together Christmas night. I was a hit. I had a great time running around but got tired and ended up napping. It's tiring being this cute! No pics because mom left the camera in the car. Some family took pictures though. I mean how could they not take pics of me!

We got back yesterday. Of course the cats were all excited to see us. Mom says it was just her they were happy to see but I don't believe her.

Congrats to Kelly and Brian on their engagement!

We hope everyone out there had a great Christmas or Hanuka, or whatever you celebrate! We sure do enjoy sharing our lives with everyone and reading about others.

Jiffy and other bad behavior?

Did anyone see this story about Jiffy?

Honestly, what is wrong with people.

So I am glad that Sophie, Dixie, and Harles mom posted about her pugs behaviors. I like knowing my dog isn't the only one that does some of that stuff. Every day Brutus goes to check to see if he can get into the room where the kitty litter boxes are and every day he is disappointed to see he can't get in.

With that being said, in honor of Dixie, Sophie and Harley how about we start a

Dog Disobedience Award.

This is awarded to any dog that's eaten his/her own poop, another cats poop, vomit, won't sit, stay, lay down or come when called. Rejoice in your disobedience and be happy you have humans who in spite, or maybe because of your disobedience love you!

We are giving this award to Dixie, Sophie, and Harles, Roxy, Pearl, Salinger, and Goodboy Norman Featherstone. Pass it on
folks!

Santa Pug

Mom took me into work due to the ice and cold weather. YES a ride in the car.

So after being there all day she finally let me play Santa Pug. I don't look too excited because I was so tired.

Here I am with Kelli. She calls me the baby, loves on me, and gives me hugs and kisses. I gives hugs and kisses back. Mom says she asks about me a lot. I don't know why Mom doesn't take me to work every day.

Wordless Wed, NOT

Greetings from campus! Due to the weather being cold and wonderful and the roads being icy, mom decided to bring me in. She has a long day and didn't want to have to drive back and forth. So I got to ride in the car! YES.

Then I got all kinds of attention from her class before she gave her final!

Then I played Santa Pug. No pics yet because mom didn't bring the wire thingy.

I love this cold weather! See me outside eating my treat? See the ice in front of and behind me?

See how eager I am to go for a walk in this cold weather (10-20 degrees with windchill lower)!

Now see me eating outside!

Clover asked if I was eating a busy bone. I wish! It would have taken longer to eat. I was eating a mini jumbone

Nosejob

Look closely at the pic above, notice anything different about me?

Now look at my nose in this pic.

I've gotten some of the scar tissue removed. Well actually it's been "disappearing." Mom started using Kerasolv. The directions says use daily for 4 weeks. Mom said this improvement was after 5 applications. She says if she continues to use on me like that I'll disappear!

Two of the cats here are sick, George Henry and Bones. Mom took the kitten back to the shelter b/c she was afraid he would get sick. She was very sad to see the kitten go. He is a cute little kitten that can entertain himself and is very sweet and passive in some ways and demanding in others.

Another pug meetup missed

The bad weather causes us to Miss another pug meetup. You can read about the fun we missed at Dixie, Sophie, and Harleys blog or at Pug Posse

Moms going to take some pics of me in the snow when we go for our walk. I love cold weather!

What the frak is a cylon?

Brutus here. Mom had to take me to the vet again because I have a cold. I was coughing and sounding like a duck. She also took George Henry in, the orange cat. He was negative for feline lukemia so he is all healthy and vaccinated and we are keeping him unless mom finds him a better home. The black kitten is going to get his manhood taken away sometime this week. I love going to the vet because I get to ride in the car. Moms proud because I know what ride in the car means. I know a lot more than that, but I am not letting her onto that.

I am so happy for the cold weather. I love the snow and cold weather.

We hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! Speaking of being thankful.....

Anyone else out there watch Battlestar Gallactica? They have a new website up with clues as to the Final Cylon. Also the Capirca spinoff they were hoping to do go approved. Mon thinks Gaeta is the final cylon but is still very confused. There are other theories.

Not only is BSG coming back so is 24 and Lost!
