Odd and ends

Brutus here. Mom was disappointed to get an email from the lady who was interested in Ozzy saying they are no longer interested. She was honest about his biting and food aggression and she's afraid that scared her off. He is doing so good and making progress. He just needs a chance. Oh well. His forever home is out there.

Moms also sad that KPR is unable to take in anymore surrenders. She wishes she could win the lottery.

On a happier note the grandparents are visiting! They have given me a lot of good affection as well as Ozzy. Ozzy seems to really like the Man. He even likes the woman too but especially the man. Mom worked with him today and he's making progress on laying down. We also got baths today so we are smelling and feeling better.

OH I forgot to post about my visit to campus! What fun. No pictures because Mom forgot the camera. She is posting a old one from a former visit. I got to walk up the stairs and look down.

Mom said something about me being registered for the class. I walked around and greeted everyone in the class. They think I am cute. Then I laid down and rested. I got to walk on campus after class and meet and greet with the college kids. I was a hit with the ladies!

We hope everyone is having a good Holiday Weekend!

Another weird morning and maybe Ozzy found a forever home?

OK, Mom has lost it, she got us up early again! I am excited though because she is taking me with her to her class she teaches tonight!

Please pray for Ozzy, on Friday or Sat we are meeting a Mom and son that's interested in him. They seem like a good fit and they don't have any other pets. We think this would be so great for Ozzy and we hope he finds a forever home soon.

Mom says she likes Ozzy but she wants to foster more dogs and has enough trouble caring for the two of us. Mom feels kinda bad that she's not keeping Ozzy but she thinks a different family would be a better fit for him long term.

Did I mention I get to ride in the car tonight? YAHOO

1 Month and a weird day yesterday

Brutus here. Today marks our 1 month anny with the foster brother Ozzy. He's doing good.

Yesterday was weird. First we had to get up really early, even before the sun came up. I can always sleep in so I didn't wake easily but even Ozzy was surprised by how early we got up. Mom was all rushed and she got us up and we went out for our walk then we ate and she left! She didn't come back for a while. Seemed like forever.

She let us out and then later in the evening we went for a walk and had Oscar
to play with some. Today was back as usual. She's been starting at the computer screen again.

We've been tagged by Dixie and Sophie to do the Adore Le Pug meme!

Rules: Obey the Pug, answer the following, and pass on!

1) How did you first learn about Pugs?

I've seen them but really learned about them from the Internet and reading Pugs for Dummies. Before adopting Brutus I had only seen 1 other pug in real life.

2) What made you get a Pug?

I have always been a cat person. I always thought dogs were too much work. Until David. My co-worker is blind and he has a black lab service dog named David. I just fell in love with him and over time wanted a dog. So I researched different breeds trying to find the best for me and for the dog. I settled on Bulldogs and Pugs. I decided on pugs because there were so many who needed homes. Plus they were cuter and had less health problems. So after some thought I finally put in an application and got Brutus!

Here is David

3) Most memorable moment with your Pug (s).

The thing I remember most for now about Brutus is the look on his face when I come home. He is so excited! I don't seem to have a moment right now.

4) What is the most important thing Pugs (or dogs) have taught you?

That all of the little things are exciting. Car rides, food, treats, getting out of the car, etc. He lives in the moment.

5) Best Thing You Ever Did For Your Pugs….aside from loving them, keeping them healthy & happy, and giving them a great life.

I think for Brutus it's taking him into work and home with my parents. He is so social and everyone at work loves him. I also think Car rides. He loves the car.

6) Post your answers on why you “Adore Le Pug” on your blog and link to the blog who tagged you (or their blog post).

7) Tag 5 or more other bloggers.

We are tagging Salinger, Louise, Frances , and Eduardo, Boo Boo

Ozzy tried to escape!

So the doorbell rings. That always begins a flurry of pointed ears and wide eyes. Then Mom walked to the door, and opened it, retrieved some paper and I and Ozzy ran outside. Ozzy chased the Post office ladies car to our mailbox, then the next one, then the next one. Mom watched and laughed. I thought maybe she was going to let him just continue following and we wouldn't have to deal with him anymore. I mean she has to deliver a lot more mail and if he continues to follow....

So unfortunately Mom got the camera, leashed me up, and off we went for the little guy. At first there was no sign, I thought OH YES. Then we finally saw him can you see him? Look for the blur below the basketball goal

Can you see him now?

He must have ran around a lot because here is he after we got back into the house.

RIP Sprout

Brutus here. Mom had to take me to the vet today. Our vet is so great and he worked us right in. I had some type of pea sized sore on my tummy. No one knows how I got it. It was full of puss and other yuky stuff. The vet tried to get it to pop with pressure but it didn't so he said to leave it. I don't know why Mom was worried it didn't hurt. So later when we got home it popped but I didn't pay attention when. Now there is a band-aid there.

Anyway, so the real important thing is I got to ride in the car! She even took me while she did some errands! Thank goodness we have nice weather!

I embarrassed her by Pooping in Rural King LOL. She was embarrassed but the worker just laughed and talked about how cute I am. HA HA.

Wanted to take a moment and say how sad we are to hear about Sprout, Violette Noelle. If we have read right the services are today and we've been thinking about her family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Fostering thoughts

I hadn't had any pictures of the two boys together for no particular reason so I snapped one today. As you can see Ozzy is smaller than Brutus. Ozzy was more work than I had anticipated. He made Brutus look like the perfect child. Now that I've gotten a little more use to Ozzy and over my own narcissistic frustration, I feel bad for him.

Whoever had him before didn't discipline consistently. This resulted in a pretty nervous alpha dog. He is a very good loyal little guy. He responds well to corrections and is hardly chasing the cats. He is so cute and sweet. I am so proud of him. I will never understand people. I was reading the KPR website about one dog who was thrown out of a car. A good Samaritan scooped up the 10 year old pug and he's up for adoption. It just makes me sad. Anyway, just wanted to put some thoughts down about Ozzy and being a foster parent.

On a happier note we are looking forward to the weekend. I also forgot to post about giving the boys baths. Ozzy is the perfect one when it comes to that. Brutus doesn't like baths but Ozzy was so good.

Ozzy is up on the KPR website

My foster brother Ozzy (called Ollie on the website) is up. He's actually only 3 1/2 years old. If you know anyone who wants a good little puggie....Mom likes him now that he is more disciplined.

Ozzy is fitting into the family fold much better these days. Mom calls him wiggle worm, muscle man and cutie pie. He's been sleeping with mom during the day when she takes naps. He is a very loud breather and snorer. He also has made my life a little easier as he supervises Mom when I'm asleep. Neither know what they are really doing but Ozzy reports back and keeps me posted.

Mom is very mentally distracted by the starting of school. She teaches college students and is sad to see school starting. She says she likes her job but the past 5 weeks have been nice as she was able to write and get other things done. I don't think she got anything done, she layed around and stared at this computer.

Happy Thurs night everyone!

Brutus here. Mom has finally finished traveling for a while. She is tired but I made her post. We went to Illinois to visit her parents. The cats nor the foster brother Ozzy didn't come. I had her all to myself and even got to sleep with her in the bed!

Here I am with the grandparents kittehs Dutch and Ruth. Ruth is the white one. She is ok with me, Dutch doesn't understand why I don't pay much attention to him.

I also hung out in the yard with my fav toy.

I also got to go to PetCo and Mom bought a lot of treats that she has yet to feed to me.

It was a good visit. I am very happy to be home.

Brutus here. Mom is finally back from Boston. She is tired but I talked her into posting. Ozzy is doing good.

Since today is about Not of my Species day we will write a bit about her former kittehs since I am her first dog.

Moms first kitty was Hargus, a large orange tabby. When her family moved they took Hargus with but since we was an outside cat, he ended up leaving. Her next kitty was Rooster and black and white male. She had him in high school and college but he died when she moved to PA.

Then in 1997 she got Bones. She loves him very much. She said he had pancreatitis in 2001 and almost died. Dr. Cameron, a very good vet in NJ saved Bones's life.

Then she adopted Lilly.
