Kennel!

Greentings from Boston! Mom here. I had to put the Bru man and Ollie, who actually is named Ozzy, in a kennel for a couple days. I had a trip previously planned and my friend who was going to watch them has car trouble but she will be picking the boys up soon.

We hope everyone has a great weekend. Thanks for the wishes, yes Ollie is a cutie. I just got off the phone at the vets office and why are all calling him a cutie too. We are also glad to hear about Dixies surgery. Brutus will post when I get back in town.

And yes Ozzy is a little cutie hellion!

Discipline

Brutus here. Ollie is much calmer that he was the past couple of days. Mom says he is nervous excited and needs discipline, exercise and affection. She has been making him mind and sit before he eats and etc.

Yesterday before we went outside she kept telling him to sit and he wouldn't do it. He likes to just bolt out the door. I finally just laid down and watched. I tried to tell him just do as she wants. After a bit he finally sat. Today he did better.

He does stalk the cats. At first he ignored them, then he chased them. I secretly enjoy watching him doing it. Those kitties are a nuisance but Mom seems to love them. Ollie appears to mean no harm but is curious. The problem is the cats want none of his stalking and staring. Thats interpreted as a threat to kittehs.

Mom says she now really realized how good I am. She says I am a good boy with calm energy. YES!

Here are a couple of videos of the hellion

Ozzy

Brutus here. Mom brought Ollie (pic above) my new foster brother home yesterday. He is pretty cool so far but way more energetic than me. Mom thinks it is nerves but I think he is just being a brown noser. We've been for a couple of walks and he does pretty good on the leash. He seems to know his name and to sit. Mom is working on laying down. Mom was relieved that he did good in the crate last night and that he's not marking the house. He marked one time and Mom said no and as far as we can tell he hasn't done it since. He seems to ignore the cats but he does stare at them and will chase them if the run from him, but he doesn't mean any harm. Oscar the little white dog across the street came over this morning and we all played for a bit. Ollie also doesn't run out of the yard......yet. Mom says that he doesn't do that now, but he might but it's still promising. He slept on the couch with mom some yesterday and today and I got jealous and slept with Mom on the couch some. I don't usually do that. I don't want to be too cuddly it's not manly.

Update: Ollie decided to fight with me at dinner. For some reason he lunged and me and we spatted a bit. Nothing big, no blood but I am so proud of Mom. Then he growled at mom and chased the cat again. She has stepped up the discipline and did some Cesar Millan action and showed him she is the pack leader. Appears that Ollie thinks he is pack leader but he is wrong.

Here he is with Bones

Here he is outside

What is a foster brother?

So Mom sat me down and explained I will have one foster brother. She said his name is Ollie and he's a 6 year old. She said he's got an eye that I have to be careful with. Mom's very excited. At first she thought she might have two dogs and that scared her. But then she learned she is getting just one and she has calmed down. She hasn't told the cats yet. I don't think they will approve. Mom said they would be fine but I think Lily will be mad.

I am not quite sure what she means by all of this really as she said we get to go in the car tomorrow and that's about all I heard.

Foster Parent?

Mom here. Last week I put in an application to be a foster parent for KPR. I figured this would give Brutus some company but more importantly provide a home for a homeless pug. So today I received an email asking to be a foster parent. It appears on Sat night I will be picking up 1 or 2 foster puggies! Everything happened fast.

I am freaking out. The sheer reality of it has set in. What if the fosters chase the cats, will the cats be ok? Will the fosters get along with Brutus? What do I do if they start marking or pottying inside? Can I afford this, to feed 2 more dogs, food, treats, leashes, beds, harnesses, what about toys? Do I need to crate them? Can I walk them all together? How can they be outside and me watch all 3 of them. On and on and on. But I am doing a good thing. I am kinda hoping I only get one pug to foster for now. I have no idea why I agreed to two.

Oh I know. they are so cute and when I look at them on the website I feel bad for the dogs and think so much of those that open their homes for these guys.

I am going to make a list of questions to ask the IN coordinator and call him tomorrow. Thanks for reading.

Here is a pic of the Bru man in the best pose I could get in front of a rock he loved to smell.

Pet Idol and a video

Mom entered me in a contest. Something called Pet Idol

I don't know why she did this as I can't sing at all. Silly Mom.

On a side note Mom is trying out her video skills. Here is a video from back when she made me stay in that crate.

Cardinal Greenway

This weekend was pretty laid back as Mom didn't feel well. She did manage to take me out of the house when she ran an errand. She took me to the cardinal greenway. Here is a picture of me walking way out in front.

This is a rock that was very interesting

Lastly, here I am checking out a cinder block.

Dreaming

Mom said that I bark, twitch my eyes, face and feet, and wag my tail in my sleep. I don't believe her. I think she is try to confuse me or make fun of me for some reason. I see the cats sleep and they don't do any of this behavior.

6 month anny

Mom is FINALLY letting me blog. Today I've been with her for 6 months. Since she is a first time dog owner she was afraid I could blog on what she is actually doing and I would get her in trouble. As her friend Mark says "shes nice enough but she doesn't know much about dogs"

So I want to thank KPR and April for getting me fixed up here with Mom. She doesn't put me outside all day. She does give me ear medicine but I guess I can forgive her for that. In fact she is pretty cool with the fact that I must be with her at all times (at least when she is home). I think it freaked her out at first but she seems to be ok with it now. She just didn't get that I have a job to do and part of that job is to be with her and supervise her at all times. She needs the help. I don't understand how she has made it through life this far.

Here are some more pics of me playing tonight. Mom went to see a movie and when she got back I greeted her as usual. I got my blue and brown teddy and ran around while she chased me. She is so slow. I also hide from her behind a chair. Sometimes she sees it but most of the time she can't find me. That's why she is fun to play with, she's not that smart.

Boy does Brutus feel better today. About 7 last night all of the sudden he was awake and ate, drank, did his outside business and was feeling better. Above is a picture from a bath the other day.

I was reading Pug and Buggs Blog and Bugg was asked about why poop tastes so good. Her answer is is the title of this post. Brutus felt so good today he had to try some of that out. He knows he is not suppose to be eating it, so he takes big bites and then runs while I chase after him, yuk

Bad Parent

I feel like a terrible parent today. Brutus is not feeling well at all and I think it's my fault. I let him chase around yesterday a bit much with the Oscar the neighborhood dog. I believe Brutus is sore and tired today. I feel so bad for him. He has eaten and drank but all day he's laid around and slept. You can just tell by the look on his face and general demeanor that he is not a happy guy today.

Other than that he is doing great. We are coming up on your 6 month anniversary and I am quite excited!
